”NP Jelgava Business Park”, the new plant of the leading European packaging manufacturer "Smurfit Kappa" is opened

The Latvian company of the European leading packaging production company "Smurfit Kappa Group" - "Smurfit Kappa Baltic" has opened a new plant in the "NP Properties" industrial park "NP Jelgava Business Park". Also "Smurfit Kappa Group Baltic" Regional Director Mr. Ole MØller and the Danish Ambassador in Latvia Mr. Arnold Skibsted took part in opening of the new plant.

It is planned that the new plant during a year will produce 10 million square metres of frilled carton, which is one of most environmentally friendly packaging materials.

Last year "Smurfit Kappa Baltic" and the major Latvian industrial parks developer "NP Properties" signed a long-term cooperation agreement on the establishment of production premises and their leasing in the industrial park "NP Jelgava Business Parks", which is one of the largest reconstructed industrial parks in Latvia and is located in the territory of the former factory RAF. "NP Properties" has invested about LVL 400 thousand in the establishment of the new plant. The total area of the plant is 2.5 thousand square metres and it is planned that 50 employees will start working there.
